With Fall upon us, Tidewater just shifts outdoor activities

to indoor activities, so with pen in hand, below is a list of

the autumn events as of now.


Friday, October 4 – The last summer Beach Cabana night of the season is on Friday, October 4 and begins at 6PM, with food

being served at 6:30PM, and ending at 8PM. Our last outdoor Beach Cabana night will be a Costume Party! Prizes will be awarded to the man and the woman with the best costume. Participation is optional. Please bring a heavy appetizer or dessert, enough for 8 people to share, plus your own beverages. Ice, cups, plates and flatware will be provided. If you have not made it to Cabana night, you won’t be disappointed as residents look to share good times with old friends and new.

Wednesday, October 9 – Boat Trip to Barefoot Landing - If you were able to travel with Captain Harold when we ventured up

to Ocean Isle, you know what fun the boat trip was. This time we will sail down the waterway to Barefoot Landing. There are

many restaurants in Barefoot, so you can choose where you would like to eat and make your own reservations or just play it by

ear. The round-trip ride is just $6 per person with food costs up to you. The boat holds 120 passengers, so be sure to get your

reservations in. The boat departs from Harbourgate Marina at 2121 Little River Neck Road. Please arrive by 3:30PM for a 4PM

departure. The boat returns at 6:30PM. Remember to bring a jacket or wrap, and possibly a hat, as the trip back may be cool.

Thursday, October 24 – Road Trip to Charleston – Tidewater residents still have time to sign up for a stress-free luxury bus trip

to Charleston. Trip includes an historic buggy ride, Harbor tour and tour of Boone Hall Plantation.

Itinerary for this trip is as follows: Pickup time will be 6:45AM in Tidewater Plantation in front of the Amenity Center. Please arrive

on time for the bus must pickup and leave promptly. The Carriage Tour is scheduled for 9:30AM. The Harbor Tour is scheduled at 11:30AM and includes a boxed lunch. Boone Hall Plantation tour is scheduled from 1:30PM – 3:45PM. A Snack bar is available at Harbor Tour and Boone Hall Plantation to purchase additional food/drink items. Return to Tidewater Plantation will be

approximately 5:30PM. This is your chance to enjoy the beauty of Charleston’s cityscape and harbor, plus the majesty of Boone Hall Plantation - without the tiring drive! Sign up deadline has been extended to Sunday, October 6. Cost is $115 and is all inclusive!


Looking Ahead:

Friday, November 1 – First indoor Happy Hour at the Amenity Center for the fall season will be a Trivia Night from 5-8PM.

Dinner at 5PM and Trivia at 6PM. Please get a team captain for tables of 8-10. Only the team captain should email Colleen Mann

If you don’t have a team, send an individual email and we will seat you with a team. Please bring an appetizer or dessert for 8-10 to share with your table, as well as your favorite beverage. The Recreation Committee will provide ice, plates, cups, napkins and silverware.


Saturday, November 9 – “Salute to the Troops”- Come celebrate Veteran’s Day and support our Veterans and our Military with a

night of dancing, good food and good friends. Once again, this celebration will help support The Grand Strand Blue Star Mothers

in their efforts in supporting our veterans and our troops. There will be a 50/50 and auction with fun prizes.

Dinner will be provided by A&A Catering (Jasper) and will consist of Tossed Salad, Potato Salad, BBQ Spare Ribs, Southern Fried Chicken, Mashed Potatoes, Mac & Cheese, Sautéed Green Beans, and Dessert.

Music will be provided by Susan & Donnie Trexler. Doors open at 5 PM and the Veterans Day Ceremony kicks off at 5:30PM

including recognition of all Veterans in attendance. Dinner begins at 6PM, with music starting at 6:30PM. All for only $18 per

person! To be included, payment should be received no later than Friday, November 1.


This has been a popular and well-attended party so we recommend that you sign up early. Group seating can be reserved for up

to 10 people per table. We do our best to accommodate your needs. Please follow the Reservation Procedure below to sign up.

Reservation Procedure:


Please read below to sign up for an event!


YOUR CHECK IS YOUR REGISTRATION: To register for an event, place your check made out to ROTSC in an envelope. On the


outside of the envelope include the following: names of all people attending, your phone number and email address. Place the envelope


in the gold mail box at the Fitness Center by the advertised cutoff date. There will be a notice on the box if the event is full and a waiting


list will be established if necessary.


For events where reserved tables are available, payments for a full table of 10 must be included in one envelope. If you are not part of a


reserved table, you will be assigned to a table with others. If you are out of town, you may mail your check and information to the

Fall Is Here! Join Judy Keyes and Marsha Smith for

a class on fall decorations on Monday, October 7

at 10 AM at the Amenity Center. Wine corks will be

utilized to create a pumpkin, grapes, and apple cork décor. The cost will be $10

and corks, leaves, ribbons, and other decorations will be available to use your

Misty Mountain Landscape





Marylou Convery is back with


a watercolor workshop on


Monday, October 14 starting at


10AM at the Amenity Center.


She will be teaching how to do a


monochromatic landscape. This


misty landscape is painted with


granulated color, which results in


a textured, moody painting. Learn


how a color scheme is derived


from one single base hue. Using


shade, tone, and tint create a


mountain landscape. Cost is $10.

Explore Cupcake Decorating with Pam Rudge on Monday,

October 28 at the Amenity Center beginning at 10 AM.

Learn simple cupcake decorating tips with frostings, filling

and using a piping bag. Other easy techniques to make

fancy cupcakes using simple swirls will be taught. Instruction

handouts will be provided. Cost is $20 and all tools will be

If you are looking for a casual environment to meet new Tidewater residents or socialize with old friends, join the Tidewater Soup


and Salad Group.


The group meets 3 times per year at different homes. There are 7 or 8 people per home and the menu is decided by the hostess.


The next groupings will be organized by Robert and Audrey Poole in December for January, February, and March 2020.
