Upcoming Events:

Friday, March 6 – Happy Hour at the Amenity Center onFriday, March 6 from 6–8 PM. Duster will be the featuredentertainment. Please bring an appetizer or dessert for 8to share as well as your favorite beverage. The RecreationCommittee will provide ice, plates, cups, napkins andsilverware. There is no cost for this event, but you mustsign up so the appropriate number of tables can be set up.The maximum for this indoor activity is 120 people. Pleaseregister your attendance by placing an envelope with namesof attendees in the metal mailbox on the left side wall at theFitness Center entryway.

 

Tuesday, March 10 – The Man Of A Thousand Voices. Doyou like to have fun? Do you want to be entertained? Join usfor an evening with master impressionist James Stephens IIIat the Asher Theatre on Rt. 501 in Myrtle Beach on Tuesday,March 10 at 4 PM. James Stephens known as The Man Of AThousand Voices seamlessly transitions from one performanceto another to keep the show fresh. His wide range of comedicperformance abilities appeals to all audiences. He hasappeared on numerous television shows. His performance is backed up by a live house band throughout the show.The Asher is a small intimate theatre and this show is just forus here at Tidewater.After the show there are many fine dining options in the area for happy hour or dinner.Tickets for this event are $28 which reflects the 30% discountthe theatre has given us. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., March 15 – Tidewater’s annual St. Patrick’s Dinnerand Dance Party will be held at the Amenity Center starting at6 PM. We are pleased to announce that Joe Durivage, ownerof Myrtle Beach DJs, will provide entertainment. Joe will serve as emcee and begin the evening playing many of your favoriteIrish songs – segueing into playing contemporary dance music. Boulineau’s will cater a traditional Irish meal consisting of corned beef, cabbage, carrots, roasted potatoes, as well as soda bread and rye bread. Desserts are included on the menu, too. Beverages provided will be several beer selections and bottled water. You are welcome to bring your beverage of choice as well. If you want to dance a jig, eat some cornedbeef and cabbage, and have a wee bit of fun – then join us forTidewater’s Annual St. Patrick’s Day Celebration! The cost for the evening is $15 per person/$30 per couple. To be included, payment should be received no later than Sunday,March 8. Wednesday, April 15 – Tidewater’s popular spring boat tripreturns for a cruise up the inland waterway to Ocean Isle onWednesday, April 15, with our own Captain Harold. (Rain dateThursday, April 16). We will leave Harborgate Marina (2131Little River Neck Road) at 4 PM with boarding beginning at3:30 PM. The boat will return at 6:30 PM. Be sure to bring a sweater or jacket, as it may be cool on our way home. The cost is just $6 per person for the round-trip boat ride. Reservations can be made by following the instructions at the end of theRecreation Committee column. Feel free to bring drinks and/or snacks on the boat. Dinner will be served at either Sharkey’s or Ocean Isle Fish Co. Please include which restaurant is your first choice for dinner on your reservation envelope – and thefirst 50 responses are guaranteed seating at that restaurant.  All restaurant choices will be accommodated as space warrants.

 

Save the Date!

Friday, May 1 – Save the Day for the first Cabana Happy Hourfor the summer. The theme will be Margaritaville Night. Detailsto follow in the April newsletter.

 

Sunday, May 31 – Tidewater’s first Summer Concert will beon Sunday, May 31. Gary Lowder and Smokin’ Hot will be theentertainers. This will be a BYOB and snacks event. Details in April NL.

Please read below to sign up for an event!

 

YOUR CHECK IS YOUR REGISTRATION: To register for an event, place your check made out to ROTSC in an envelope. On the

 

outside of the envelope include the following: names of all people attending, your phone number and email address. Place the envelope

 

in the gold mail box at the Fitness Center by the advertised cutoff date. There will be a notice on the box if the event is full and a waiting

 

list will be established if necessary.

 

For events where reserved tables are available, payments for a full table of 10 must be included in one envelope. If you are not part of a

 

reserved table, you will be assigned to a table with others. If you are out of town, you may mail your check and information to the

Watercolor Workshop - Nothing looks more beautifuland enjoyable than a sunset! Join Marylou Convery and paint a weton-wet wash and lifting technique that mimics the vibrant colorsof a sunset. Craft Chat

A new tradition begins at Tidewater! On the FIRST MONDAY of each month, you’re invited to

come over to the Amenity Center from 1- 3PM and bring whatever craft you’re working on.

We’ll enjoy each other’s company while we work on our projects. It will be fun to see what

others are doing while we visit. No sign-up is required, but email daltman@altmaninitiative.

com if you want to be on the list to receive a reminder each month.

 

Batik Workshop - Audrey Poole is presenting another colorful rice paper rooster batik. Batik is an art form made byplacing wax on rice paper or fabricand then applying different colorsof paint or dye to make a design. No previous experience is needed. The class will be held on Monday, March 9 and Monday, March 23 (same class offered 2 times). Join her at the Amenity Center from 10 AM to 2 PM and bring your lunch. Cupcake Workshop - Join Pam Rudge and learn how to professionally decorate cupcakes using a piping bag and piping tips. You’ll leave the class knowing how to make simple swirls and other easy techniques you see on fancy cupcakes. The workshop is on Monday, March 30 at the Amenity Center starting at 10 AM, and the class fee is $20. Please email Pam, This email address is being protected from spambots. You do not need to bring any tools to the class, but you may want to bring an apron!
