January:
Winter pruning of Crape Myrtles, Liriope, other dormant grass, etc.
Fertilize rye grass at entrances and parkway.
February:
Winter pruning continued.
Cleaning out of natural areas
Turf round I, pre emergent for grassy and broadleaf weeds. (Pendimethalin, three way) (January 27th-31th)
Fertilize rye grass at entrances and parkway.
March:
Pre-emergent for planting beds. (Pendimethalin Granular)
Turf 1 insect application with Duocide granular (March 23th-27th)
Fertilize rye along parkway and entrances.
Fertilize plants and ornamental trees
Irrigation inspection.
Complete annual natural area cleaning
April:
End of April-Early May, Spring annual installation in areas outlined in contract.
Turf round II, pre and post emergent for grassy and broadleaf weeds in turf throughout property. (Pendimethalin, three way) (April 6th-10th)
Fertilize all turf grass areas with 16-4-8 slow release
Pond maintenance
Installation of pine needles zones 1,2 and 4
Begin Pruning plant material
Spring aeration of all turf grass areas prior to turf round (upon NRC approval).
May:
Start irrigating turf as needed.
Spring annual installation.
June:
16-4-8 granular fertilizer for Bermuda, Zoysia and St Augustine throughout property. (3rd week of June)
Turf 2 insecticide application with Duocide granular (June 15th -19th)
July:
16-4-8 fertilizer for Bermuda, st Augustine, zoysia and Centipede (.25 lbs/1000 sq ft. for centipede) (3rd week of July)
Turf Round III Pre and post emergent control of grassy and broadleaf weeds (Pendimethalin, three way) (July 13th-17th)
August:
Fertilize all turf except centipede with 16-4-8 slow release (3rd week of August)
September:
Rye grass seed application.
Fall shrub and ornamental tree fertilization start.
Turf round IV Pre and post emergent control of grassy and broadleaf weeds.(Pendimethalin, three way) (Sept. 7th -11th)
Fertilize all turf except for centipede with 16-4-8 (3rd week of September)
Turf 3 insecticide application with Duocide granular (Sept. 21th-25th)
October:
Limit unneeded irrigation of turf.
Fall shrub and ornamental tree fertilization complete.
Fall annual installation.
Fall pine straw application. Zone 4. Pine straw application in areas of heavy leaf fall should be minimized.
Fertilize rye grass on parkway and entrances (21-0-0)
November:
Turn off irrigation clocks prior to freezing temps. Run irrigation on flowers as needed manually.
Begin leaf removal.
Fertilize rye grass on parkway and entrances (21-0-0)
December:
Winter pruning started.
Continue leaf removal.
Run water on flowers to prevent dry out.
Fertilize rye grass along parkway and entrances.
